Recycling Water

Minimize

At Rockwell Farms we Recycle 99% of the Water we Use

dripWe built a 10,000,000 gallon retention pond that makes this feat possible. The retention pond captures the water that is dispensed by our facility as well as rainwater created by mother nature. Not only do we capture and reuse water at our facility we are also very conscious of how much water we are using in the first place.

We use automated technology that helps us reduce the amount we use such as Drip Irrigation, Echo Lines, and Automated Booms. Drip Irrigation and Echo Lines are used for watering our 700,000 plus hanging baskets that we produce each year.

Drip Irrigation is a slow and steady drip system that allows the plant to absorb optimum amounts of water with minimal runoff. Echo Lines is a system that allows for accurate measurement of water into each basket, the hanging baskets are moved on a track, and watered at the watering station each time they pass by.

Automated Booms are used for the millions of potted plants we grow every year. These machines make it possible to water a maximum amount of plants in minimal time. All of the runoff from each of these processes is captured, returned to the retention pond, filtered, and reused.
