Drip Irrigation and Echo Line Watering Systems
Each year at Rockwell Farms we grow over 700,000 hanging baskets. We use Drip Irrigation and Echo Line watering system to make this possible.
Drip Irrigation is a slow and steady drip system that allows the plant to absorb optimum amounts of water with minimal runoff. The hanging baskets are on lines high above the greenhouse floor, above these lines is the Drip Irrigation system. Above each plant is a small hose that gives a slow and steady drip. Each plant gets the optimum about of water and fertilizer with minimal runoff since the plant is given time to absorb the water.
Our Echo Lines System allows for accurate measurement of water into each basket. Hanging baskets are rotated around the greenhouse on a track, each track has a watering station, the plants are watered each time the baskets pass trough this station. The runoff from the station is captured in a runoff pan, drained from the runoff pan to a hose, then dispensed into the retention pond to be recycled and reused.
